7AI Alternatives: Five AI SOC Platforms to Compare
On this page
A quick look at 7AI
Lior Div and Yonatan Striem-Amit, the pair who co-founded Cybereason, started 7AI in Boston in 2024. A $130 million Series A in December 2025 took the company’s total funding to $166 million.
The product deploys groups of cooperating AI agents that gather context on alerts from endpoint, cloud, identity, and email sources, work out what happened, and carry out a response. Anything high impact is held until a person signs off. Since May 2026, customers can also buy PLAID ELITE, which adds round-the-clock monitoring by 7AI analysts. The company does not publish prices.
Reasons buyers compare other options
7AI only went to market in early 2025, so its record in production is short. Security leaders who plan to let software close investigations often prefer a vendor with more years of customer results behind it. One independent review also suggests the platform pays off most for organizations with established EDR, SIEM, and identity stacks and heavy alert loads, which leaves smaller teams with a weaker case.
Cost modelling is harder without a price list, especially next to vendors that publish rates per investigation or per endpoint. With industry analysts in 2026 describing the AI SOC agent category as early and likely to consolidate, many buyers now want to trial two or three tools against each other before committing.
Questions to ask when evaluating a replacement
Find out whether each tool stops at a recommendation or can isolate a host or disable an account through your existing EDR and identity provider. Ask how the agents build their understanding of your environment and whether the same alert produces the same verdict when run twice. Check that every action leaves an audit trail an analyst can follow, and decide early whether you want to operate the platform yourself, hand it to a provider, or keep both options open.
How five 7AI alternatives stack up
Current AI SOC tools fall roughly into dedicated triage analysts, agent platforms that cover the full alert lifecycle, and products that grew out of security automation.
| Platform | What it does | How it is priced | Good match for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Exaforce | Agentic SOC platform, also available as a managed MDR service | Quote-based | Teams that want one platform from detection to response, run internally or by a services team |
| Intezer | AI triage grounded in forensic analysis, with response workflows | Quote-based, by endpoint count | Teams handling many endpoint and phishing alerts |
| Torq | Agentic AI SOC built on a hyperautomation engine | Quote-based | Organizations moving off older SOAR playbooks |
| Dropzone AI | Autonomous AI analyst for Tier 1 investigation | Quote-based per AI analyst, capped at a yearly number of investigations | Small teams that want a fixed amount of triage capacity |
| Prophet Security | AI SOC with separate analyst, threat hunting, and detection engineering agents | Entry tier listed on AWS Marketplace, quote-based above that | Regulated firms that need a single-tenant deployment |
Exaforce: agents that reason over a model of your environment
Exaforce starts from context. As data arrives, each event is mapped onto a structured model of the identities, resources, and relationships in the environment, and a behavioral model records what normal activity looks like for each of them. Task-specific AI agents work from that model to detect, triage, investigate, and respond.
The benefit is repeatable results. A language model that reads raw log lines can give different answers to the same alert on different runs. Agents that reason over a maintained picture of the environment produce verdicts an analyst can check and trust. Customers can run Exaforce themselves or use Exaforce MDR.
Picking the platform that matches your SOC
Teams whose main shortfall is Tier 1 capacity can often solve it with a focused AI analyst. Teams with years of SOAR playbooks may get more from an automation-led platform that keeps that work. Teams that want coverage from detection through containment, with a managed option, should shortlist the full-lifecycle agent platforms.
Whichever direction you take, feed each candidate several weeks of your real alerts and compare their conclusions side by side.
