Best AI SOC platforms pricing
On this page
AI SOC platform pricing is hard to compare at a glance. Few vendors publish list prices, the units they charge for differ from one platform to the next, and the headline figure on a quote rarely tells you what your security operations center (SOC) will actually spend once storage, integrations, and services are added in. Two platforms with similar quotes can end up costing very different amounts over three years.
This guide explains the common pricing models for AI SOC platforms, what drives cost in each, and how to work out what a platform will really cost compared with the stack you run today.
Common AI SOC pricing models
Data volume
Some platforms charge by how much data you send them, usually measured in gigabytes per day. This model is familiar from traditional security information and event management (SIEM) pricing, and it’s simple to estimate if you know your current ingestion. The risk is that cost rises every time you add a data source or your environment grows, which can push teams to leave useful logs out to stay within budget.
Assets, endpoints, or identities
Other platforms charge per protected asset, per endpoint, or per identity. This is easier to forecast because headcount and device counts change more slowly than log volume. Check how machine identities and service accounts are counted, since they can outnumber human users many times over in cloud environments.
Platform subscription tiers
Many vendors sell tiered subscriptions, where higher tiers unlock more AI agents, longer retention, more integrations, or automated response. Read the tier boundaries carefully. A capability that matters to you, such as behavioral analytics or response automation, may only appear in a higher tier or as a separate add-on.
Managed service add-ons
If the vendor also offers managed detection and response (MDR), it’s usually priced on top of the platform. The MDR component typically reflects coverage hours, response scope, and the size of the environment.
What drives the real cost of an AI SOC platform
The license is only part of the picture. Storage and retention often add as much again, particularly if long-retention data sits in expensive hot storage. Integration work, professional services, and ongoing tuning add more. And on the other side of the ledger, a platform that replaces existing tools removes their costs entirely.
That’s why the useful comparison is total spend on your current stack versus total spend after the change. For most teams, the current stack includes some combination of SIEM licensing and storage, SOAR tooling and the engineering time to maintain playbooks, an MDR or MSSP contract, and the analyst hours spent on triage. An AI SOC platform that consolidates several of these can cost more than any single tool it replaces and still lower total spend.
Analyst time deserves its own line. If a platform closes most false positives automatically and cuts investigation time, the hours your team gets back have real value, either as headcount you don’t need to add or as capacity redirected to threat hunting and detection quality.
How Exaforce approaches cost
Exaforce is an agentic SOC platform that automates detection, triage, investigation, and response, and it often replaces SIEM, SOAR, and MDR or MSSP contracts together. Several parts of its design are aimed directly at the cost drivers above.
The Exaforce Data Platform tiers data automatically across analytics and data lake storage, and cold storage keeps long-retention data available without the cost of hot-tier access (SIEM replacement). Behavioral detection is built in, rather than sold as a separate SKU. And when Exaforce runs alongside an existing SIEM, SIEM costs taper over time as data moves across.
Customer results show what that looks like in practice. Accton saves $300K+ a year by avoiding added SOC headcount. Forcepoint replaced a legacy managed security service provider (MSSP) with Exaforce.
